Manages the inspection, testing, calibration repairs and preventative maintenance on clinical and non-clinical hospital equipment and systems to meet requirements of regulatory agencies, and to establish frequency of repair histories to be used to recommend equipment for repair or replacement.. Researches and implements innovative and new technologies within the facility. Researches new equipment and provides recommendation prior to purchase. Maintains high standards of equipment performance and safety to protect patients and employees of the hospital. Participates in or leads educational programs, in-service meetings and department meetings as required to advance the knowledge and skills of the Clinical Engineer Group to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION:- BS strongly preferred, AS minimum in Electrical Engineering Technology, an Allied Science, or equivalent.
- Certification as Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) or eligibility for certification.
