Under general supervision, but according to established standards and procedures, prepares, processes and performs initial microscopic examinations of human body fluids and products, i.e. blood, scraping and exudates, in order to detect evidence of cancer and/or other pathological abnormalities. Assessments include gynecological, non-gynecological and fine needle aspiration specimens. Performs related clerical duties, including maintenance of cytology slides and cellular interpretation files; inventories, and requisitions cytology supplies. Performs and maintains cytology Quality Assurance activities. Performs all moderate and highly complex clinical procedures utilizing sophisticated instrumentation to prepare and screen all cytologic material. Accountable for all tasks and responsibilities as designated by the CLIA rule and/or delegations made as a result (laboratory documentation delineates this specific information). Fulfills the expectation for the completion of all responsibilities as determined by the applicable CLIA role. Duties are performed under the supervision of the Charge Cytotechnologist, AP Laboratory Supervisor, Laboratory Medical Director, and Laboratory Site Director/Site Laboratory Manager.
-       Education/Required - BS/BA. Graduation from approved School of Cytotechnology
-       Certification/Required – CT/SCT (ASCP) or equivalent certification. 
-       Experience/Preferred – Two years of current clinical lab experience
