Position:  Director of Physician Practice Operations

Location:  Required travel to multiple sites within Community Healthcare System, all within Northwest Indiana. 

                (Primary office location: Merrillville, IN)

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Community Care Network (CCNI) Administrator and in coordination with CCNI leadership, the Director of Physician Practice Operations plans, organizes, implements and operates medical practices.  Coordinates and oversees daily operations of practices, including clinical and business functions/systems. Coordinates physician office locations for the hospital in coordination with the Hospital Administrators. Provides input for strategic operational plans including marketing and public relations, business development, and financial management.  Evaluates current work processes/performance within individual physician practices identifying best practices and workflows throughout the organization to replicate them whenever applicable.  Collaborates with CCNI leadership to institute best practices which will enhance the quality of patient care and flow.  Oversees team in onboarding and credentialing of Providers.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in related field (healthcare management, business management, finance and/or operations); MBA, or other related advanced degree, strongly preferred
  • Minimum of four (4) years supervisory/operations experience in physician practice setting required
  • Previous experience with Electronic Medical Record system required; EPIC strongly preferred
  • Required familiarity in patient accounts, billing management, coding, and medical terminology
  • Experience in Managed Care environment required.
  • Must have good analytical ability to evaluate and interpret data
  • Must exhibit strong leadership qualities, great communication skills, and excellent organization and time management traits
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate and relate to physicians and staff; work cooperatively with all members of the hospital healthcare team
  • Local travel required; must be committed to visiting physician practice sites and attending administrative meetings as necessary; able to effectively manage multiple departments and facility locations
