Under the direction of the Director of the EP Laboratory and with medical direction from physicians, the EP Rad Tech will perform a variety of technical procedures that will require administering of prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis.  The EP Rad Tech will be expected to function with independent judgment and with little or no assistance to maintain department standards.  The EP Rad Tech is expected to maintain radiation safety measures to ensure radiation is as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA).  The Tech will be expected to ensure radiation safety is maintained for all physicians, RN’s, technologists, and patients.  Under the direct supervision of the Electrophysiologist, the EP Rad Tech will assist the physician with sterile technique, enduring sterile technique is maintained throughout the procedure.

  • Graduate of an A.R.R.T. certified school of radiological technology. Must have a license to operate radiological equipment in the State of Indiana.  One year of experience in general radiography.  Experience in a Cardiac Electrophysiology Lab or Cardiac Catheterization Lab preferred.  A working knowledge of electrophysiology or angiographic procedures and sterile techniques is preferred.  Previous experience with cardiac implantable devices is preferred also.  Successful completion of the basic arrhythmia course and basic cardiac life support is required.  Advanced cardiac life support preferred.  RCIS considered.
