POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY

The Manager of Clinical Trials provides both administrative leadership to the Oncology Clinical Trials Office. This position requires a leader with extensive regulatory or research coordination experience. This person will uphold the philosophy, policies, and standards of oncology patient care. This person must be a self-directed, a collaborator with both oncology multidisciplinary professionals and ancillary services, as well as a problem solver. The manager will need to have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, be able to write policies and procedures as well as develop workflows. The manager will have accountability for centralizing and growing the outreach activities and the clinical trials program to support all cancers across the system. This manager will report both optimal patient satisfaction as well as a financial return on volume, patient retention and downstream revenue.   
 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Prepared Professional degree required.
  • Two years of management experience in research.  
  • Strong Oncology knowledge.
  • Minimum two years’ experience of experience in cancer research.
  • BLS certification.
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbally and written communication.
  • Excellent patient assessment skills including assessment of psychosocial issues.
  • Knowledge of self- care resources and strategies
  • Critical thinking skills are essential
  • Strong leadership skills in both leading teams, developing new processes and staff engagement.
  • Basic knowledge of insurance reimbursement systems, financial hardships, and payer coverage
  • Working knowledge of national, regional and community resources
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively with members of the healthcare team.
  • Experience with EMR and Microsoft Word Products.
  • Demonstrates a professional, positive, flexible demeanor.
  • Resourceful and adaptable to the changing healthcare climate.
