Reporting to the Director of IT Technical Services, the Database Administrator Manager is responsible for ensuring assigned databases meet the needs of users and comply with the organizational strategy and direction of Community Healthcare System. Is responsible for managing the Database Adminsitrators and Epic ETL team. Supports the day to day activities of Application Administrators, System Engineers, and end users by working closely with them on upgrades, new installations, and issue resolution. Responsible for performance tuning, security hardening, upgrading/patching, backups/restores, and disaster recovery of relational and non-relational databases. Ensures best practices are followed to ensure high availability. Should be an expert and have an understanding of Microsoft SQL, Oracle Database, or IRIS  ( formerly Intersystems Caché ). Should be proficient with latest operating systems as well as hypervisors.
 
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Masters Degree preferred, or equivalent work experienced required.
  • Minimum Five (5) year experience working with at least one of the following databases: Intersystems IRIS, Microsoft SQL, Oracle.
  • Certification in the respective database preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years scripting experience.
  • Knowledge of Linux or Windows operating systems.
  • Knowledge of VMware ESXi.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Sharepoint a plus.
