  •   POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY     
    The Staff RN is responsible for implementing, directing, communicating and documenting the nursing process and provides a safe environment for patients, visitors and associates. The nurse practices in accordance with current established standards of care, The Nurse Practice Act, the Community Healthcare System policies and procedures, and supports the mission and philosophy of CHS by providing the highest quality care in the most cost efficient manner, provides for the well-being of the community, services the needs of all people and demonstrates the values: dignity, compassionate care, community, quality and stewardship.
    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
     
    •        Current license to practice in the State of Indiana as a professional nurse.  Bachelor's degree in Nursing a plus.
    •         Minimum two years of current clinical experience in order to acquire a thorough knowledge of scientific principles of nursing; acquire a thorough knowledge of professional nursing standards; and, develop skill in nursing techniques and the ability to adapt techniques to individual patient needs.
    •        Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for neonates, infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients/family served.
    •         Minimum of two years current experience in Critical Care, Cath Lab experience preferred.
    •         ACLS certificate required. Maintain CPR certification.
    •        Excellent attitude, interpersonal skills and communication abilities necessary to interact with patients, physicians and other hospital associates.
