Location:  Munster,  IN


Responsibilities for this position include: Supervise the Medicaid Unit personnel to ensure the timely and accurate billing and follow up of accounts for Medicaid payors. Maintain a thorough knowledge of Medicaid regulations that affect billing and collection and maintain a thorough understanding of Medicaid Managed plans, Illinois Medicaid and other Medicaid Out of State payors. Maintains best practice standards and workflows for unit.  Monitor productivity and quality of work goals.  Create financial reports relating to AR and identify aging and payor issues.  Monitor, report, and work toward resolution or reduction of denials by payor.  Coordinate and handle all Medicaid Audits.  Work with other departments as necessary to resolve AR issues or delays.  Develop and implement new or revised procedures for all areas of responsibility to achieve department goals. Ensure adherence to Hospital approved policies, procedures and guidelines.  This is a general explanation of the responsibilities but is not an all-inclusive list.   
 
To qualify you must have: 
 
•         Bachelor degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance or Accounting required or combination of education and experience.
•         3-5 years experience in a Patient Financial Services department.
•         Supervisory or Team Lead experience required.
•         Thorough knowledge of the billing and collection process and laws concerning billing activities.
•         Intermediate to Advanced level of proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel and other department software applications. Epic preferred.  Must be detail oriented with a good numeric aptitude.
•         Must have excellent organizational and analytical skills as well as demonstrate project management experience.
•         Ability to demonstrate strong verbal/written communication and problem solving skills.
•         Ability to work independently and multi-task while working in a collaborative, team environment with a positive attitude.  Must be able to work in fast paced environment and work under deadlines.
•         Must demonstrate ability to work with computer software programs and understand relationship to workflows.
