Under the supervision of the Anesthesiologist and according to precise procedures, assists Anesthesiologist/ Anesthetists in securing medications from the Omnicell and distributing such medications to the Anesthesiologist/ Anesthetist prior to surgical procedures. Wastes unused medications as policy indicates. Gathers data from Anesthesia records to develop statistical data regarding turn-around time and costs of specific anesthesia procedures/supplies and other issues as assigned. Makes certain that all anesthesia documents related to each case are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Supervises Anesthesia Aide.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:- A high school diploma is required. Completion of a prescribed course of study in the field of Pharmacy Technician is required.
- Previous experience as an Anesthesia Technician is preferred.
- Must have basic typing skills, approximately 35 wpm.
- Obtains and maintains current certifications (Heartsaver CPR) as required in specialty areas (Critical Care).
