  • POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY     
    Under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation provides rehabilitative nursing care to cardiac and pulmonary patients in the inpatient and outpatient phases of rehab.  Utilizes the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.  Educates patients and their families in specified areas of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and other related areas (i.e., cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, exercise, risk factor modification, medications and co-morbidities).  Demonstrates sound judgement based upon knowledge and appplication of professional, departmental, and organizational principes and standards. 
     
    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
     
    •        Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. Previous cardiopulmonary rehabilitation experience preferred. Demonstrated ability in arrhythmia identification and intervention, 12 lead EKG interpretation.
    •         Previous cardiovascular experience of a least one year (CCU, ICU, ED CVU, IMCU).
    •         Current professional licensure by the State of Indiana Health Professions Bureau.
    •         BLS certification current.  ACLS certification preferred.  Must obtain ACLS certification within 3-6 months of hire and maintain certification thereafter.     
    •         Computer and presentation skills helpful. 
    •   Successful completion of the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation and hospital orientation programs.
