Self Pay Collector
The Patient Financial Services Collector resolves all discharged self-pay accounts receivables; Maximize the Hospital's cash flow and to minimize the Hospital's bad debt expenses.  Contacts patient to resolve balances. Offers payment plan if not able to pay in full; offers other options such as Help Loan Program and Helping Hand. Adds insurance information and sets for billing; Verifies if patient is eligible for Medicaid. Logged into the agent calls to answer incoming calls. 
To qualify, you must have:
  • High School Diploma or GED.  
  • Minimum of 1 year Hospital/Medical business office experience in collections required; self-pay experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of insurance benefits and coordination of benefits required.
  • Spanish speaking preferred.
  • Medical terminology helpful.
  • Must have basic knowledge of business office machines. and computer experience.
  • Ability to operate a calculator and type 35 WPM.
  • Ability to demonstrate communication and problem solving skills.
