SUMMARY:
The Registry Occupational Therapy Assistant is a qualified professional who provides quality patient care under the direction of an evaluating Occupational Therapist rendering Occupational Therapy treatments according to an outlined plan of care and goals.  The Occupational Therapy Assistant manages treatments to patients in varying states of health and illness. Occupational Therapy Assistants address the physical, cognitive, psychosocial, sensory, and other aspects of performance in a variety of contexts to support engagement in everyday life activities that affect health, well-being, and quality of life.  The Occupational Therapy Assistant provides care to promote health and wellness and to those who have or are at risk for developing an illness, injury, disease, disorder, condition, impairment, disability, activity limitation, or participation restriction.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
•         Graduate of accredited Occupational Therapy Assistants program.
•         License/Registration/Certification: Indiana Licensure and Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, CPR certification current, BLS Course C (Basic Life Support).
•         Must have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work with frequent interruption.
•         Must demonstrate self-assessment, initiation, and the ability to work collaboratively on a team. 
•         Must have a customer service orientation and ability to communicate and listen effectively. 
•         Must demonstrate flexibility and the ability to accept change. 
•         A basic understanding of federal and state regulations regarding billing, compliance, documentation, and supervision of support staff as they relate to the practice of relevant discipline. 
•         Maintains knowledge of professional practice issues/changes locally and nationally.
