  • Under general supervision and according to established objectives and procedures, is responsible for assessing the need for planning, developing, and coordinating, implementing and evaluating diabetes education programs for St. Mary Medical Center patients, employees and community members.
     
     
    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
     
    •         Licensed to practice in the State of Indiana as a Registered Nurse.
    •         Bachelors degree required, Nursing Major preferred, with at least 2 years nursing experience
    •         Minimum of two (2) years current experience with diabetic patients in clinical area.
    •         Current certification in diabetes education or completion of certification within two (2) years of assuming position.
    •         Self starter with strong communication/interpersonal skills.
    •         Experience in developing and implementing educational programs desirable
    •         Maintains current CPR, ACLS certification, Instructor status preferred.
    •        Demonstrates leadership potential through the capacity for independent discriminative and creative, evidence-based thought, judgment, and action.
    •        Works cooperatively and collaboratively with other nurse clinicians, staff nurses, and other educational personnel and resource personnel.
    •         Candidate must be enthusiastic, organized, team centered attitude, ability to motivate others, and prioritize work needs.
    •         Demonstrates mid-level understanding of Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook Calendar, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), EPIC software applications.
    •         Possess above average presentation, written and oral communication skills
    •         Car and current Indiana State drivers license required
