POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY     

 
Performs a variety of vascular and echocardiographic diagnostic procedures. The Echo/vascular Ultrasound technologist will be expected to function independently and demonstrate sound judgment based upon knowledge and application of professional, departmental and organizational principals and standards. Duties are performed under the supervision of the Director of Non-Invasive Cardiology and with medical direction from physicians.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school graduate or equivalent with basic typing and computer skills in data entry. Graduate of approved school of cardiovascular technology with emphasis in Cardiac and/or Cerebral/Peripheral vascular ultrasonography preferred.
  • \t
  • Current credentials as a Registered Echo/Vascular Technologist (i.e. RDCS, RVT, RCVT) a must. Minimum of one (1) years’ experience in echocardiography or cerebral/peripheral vascular ultrasound.  Current BLS certification.
  • \t
  • Ability to identify normal anatomy and commonly seen pathology. Must possess an understanding of standard accepted interpretation criteria for Cerebral/Peripheral Vascular and/or Cardiac Diagnostic procedures.

  • Must possess strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Must possess basic tying, data entry and computer skills (Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office).

  • Self-starter, people-oriented individual able to work in a constantly changing environment.
