Position Purpose/Summary: The Student Fellow participates in both the preparatory aspects of care including transfers, transporting patients, equipment set up and the assistive aspects of care which help the therapists deliver quality therapy care. The Student fellow assists the department in direct handling of patients as well as location, organization and cleaning of equipment and maintaining the department in a clean, safe and orderly state. A learning emphasis is placed on this position that prepares the Fellow not only for the current position but also for a future career as a therapist. This position is under the supervision of the treating therapist during patient care.
Education/Experience:- Student actively enrolled in an accredited therapy educational program within 3 years of completion.
- Training on the job.
- Demonstrate self assessment, initiative, and the ability to work collaboratively on a team in a fast paced environment.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills with patients, therapists and other health team members with a customer service orientation.
- Must demonstrate flexibility and the ability to accept change.
- Basic computer skills including email.
