Analyzes and reanalyzes all electronic medical records and loose sheets according to department standards and regulatory requirements. Assists physicians and allied health professionals with the record completion process and assists department visitors and hospital personnel. Uses electronic imaging system and hospital computer systems to perform all functions encompassed in job responsibilities. Able to promptly retrieve electronic records. Knowledgeable in record completion practices and No Bed List process with overall goal being delinquency rate at or below defined thresholds. Speed and accuracy required in providing needed information to awaiting physicians and other health care providers. This position includes Concurrent Scanning and indexing of medical records on the patient care units. Position located at Community Hospital, Munster, Indiana.
To Qualify you Must Have: 
  • Minimum high school diploma.  
  • Prior experience with medical terminology and the use of a computer keyboard and mouse are required.
  • Previous medical record experience or experience working closely with physicians is preferred.
  • This position requires the ability to deal maturely with confidential information and requires good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Self initiative, confidence and people-oriented traits enable analyst to function effectively.
