Acts as the gatekeeper for any changes or modifications to the Interface Engine as assigned. The Interface Analyst works under the direction of the Lead Interface Analyst. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing day to day analytical and technical activities, including providing Interface Engine architecture/communication design, interface definition, message definition and translation, testing and maintenance.  Acts as third level support of the Help Desk as part of the day-to-day duties.  Utilizes best practices in the accomplishment of duties.  Maintains close communications with the Lead Interface Analyst and Director and provides status reports on a regular basis.  Position located at St. Catherine Hospital, East Chicago, Indiana. 
 
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Associates Degree required. Bachelor Degree in IT or related field preferred.
  • 3-4 years experience with HL7 standards and Interface Engine application. Cloverleaf engine experience preferred.
  • 3-4 years product application support experience preferably in IT environment.
  • 2 years experience with Interface Engine programming
  • 2 years AIX/UNIX experience
  • Knowledge of web services and XML a plus.
  • Epic Bridges certification preferred. Must obtain Epic Bridges certification within 1 year of hire.
  • Healthcare experience with a good working knowledge of various business related applications preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel. Intermediate knowledge of MS Visio and Windows Operating systems preferred.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills required.
  • Demonstrated interface troubleshooting skills using interface and communication logs.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of testing and quality control of applications.
