Location: East Chicago, IN

Responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling all functional areas of food service (food preparation, cafeteria, patient trays). Ensures that optimum services are provided in the most cost-effective manner and that activities are performed in accordance with practices, standards, and guidelines set forth by the Hospital and all licensing and regulatory bodies.
•         Bachelor's degree from accredited institution with major in restaurant, hotel and institutional foodservice, food and nutrition, foodservice or related experience.
•         Advanced degree preferred or five year's experience in management of a health care food service operation.
•         ServSafe Certification required.
•         Five to ten years of progressively more responsible experience in institutional food preparation in order to
o    Acquire a thorough knowledge of all food service related procedures, methods, and principles.
o    A working knowledge of financial and purchasing techniques and management theory.
o    Become familiar with food specifications, food production techniques, and principles of nutrition.
o    Acquire suitable analytical, interpersonal, and supervisory/management skills.
