The Staff RN is responsible for implementing, directing, communicating and documenting the nursing process and provides a safe environment for patients, visitors and associates. The nurse practices in accordance with current established standards of care, the Nurse Practice Act, the Community Healthcare System policies and procedures, and supports the mission and philosophy of CHS.
Scope of Care:  The 2 Parkview Tower Unit is a 14-bed multidisciplinary 24-hour unit located on the second floor of the Parkview Tower within the hospital. Patients over the age of twelve years may be admitted to this unit, but the average age is 65 years.  The highest volume of patients will be observation / short stay patients.  The most common types of patients admitted to 2 Parkview Tower includes patients with: angina, R/O or Post MI, cardiac dysrhythmia, CAD, COPD, CHF, and syncope / TIA.  The top three diagnoses for this unit are: A. Coronary atherosclerosis of native coronary artery, B. Atrial fibrillation, and C. other chest pain.
Education/Experience: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current professional licensure by the State of Indiana Health Professions Bureau. BSN desirable. Successful completion of The Community Healthcare System's Personnel and Nursing Orientation Programs. Obtains and maintains current certification (ACLS) as required in specialty areas (Critical Care). Obtains and maintains current CPR certification
